Fabric of the North is due to reopen shortly!

Having first opened in October 2020, it was then affected by the two subsequent Covid related lockdowns. However, Kirkleatham Museum will now continue to host it from May 18th 2021 through to January 2022. The museum is open 10 - 5 Tuesday to Sunday. Free entry, although booking is currently required, with last entry at 4pm.

The tapestries in the exhibition showcase the landscapes, industry and social history of Northern England. It mixes traditional and 3D tapestries, mounted and unmounted, of varying shapes and sizes, some purely woven, others mixed media - but all with a common theme of our northern heritage. The exhibition is been curated and managed by northern members of the British Tapestry Group.

Weaving materials will be available to buy, we hope to have have-a-go sessions and demonstrations, alongside films of tapestry weaving.

See the Fabric of the North website and the exhibitions page for more information.
