'My love of weaving started after I visited the 2012 South East Regional Group’s Exhibition. I was enthralled by the diversity of the exhibits and the freedom weaving appeared to give an artist. I enrolled in a Jane Brunning course and grew from there.
I love the versatility of weaving from techniques to selection of yarns, ideas to composition and the actual weaving. It is a very tactile and, through it’s rhythm, relaxing art form. Through the Showcase I can see how my weaving subject matterhas changed from colourful and more figurative to abstract and more monochrome. Now I am back to colour. I love this ability to reinvent myself and my weaving, such freedom!’
