I studied tapestry weaving at West Surrey College of Art & Design (now UCA) gaining a BA Hons. My inspiration has always been the British landscape, finding pleasure in the combination of the natural contours of the land with the colour, texture and shape of what is growing in the space. I use natural fibres, mainly wool but also cotton and silk using a wide variety of yarns to represent the crops or fields in whichever season the subject takes place. I work from preparatory sketches and paintings gathered while walking mainly in my local area.
